I was just watching the news and Dean the Stream was talking about how OU's women had to win to keep their tourney spot in the OKC regional safe (pause to vomit).

Besides beating OU down at Norman, what else do our women have to do to insure that the spot in OKC goes to the Cowgirls?

I would like to see this happen just so I could watch the women play a couple tourney games before they keep moving up. Secondly, it would be just peachy to see Cherry and the spoonerettes have to hump it across the country and cry all the way there about how they rob in true OU fashion.

OKC is a regional final spot. In other words, we want to be in that region so that if we get to the Sweet 16 we come home to OKC.

New Orleans, Spokane, Greensboro and OKC are the regionals. I can't find and actual bracket that shows how those regionals get fed. Greensboro and OKC are the same later dates, and the later dates for the opening rounds are Bridgeport, Connecticut, College Park, Maryland, Norfolk, Virginia and West Lafayette, Indiana. It looks like the OKC region will have Virginia and Indy as opening sites.

One of the reasons for uo's spot being in doubt is that even tho they are ranked #11 they are currently 5th in the standings.

OSU has a great chance to impress Sunday at home against KState, who is 5-0 in conf. The girls have a great schedule for them left and have 2 road wins in conf. If the girls want to contend for the B12, they must beat KState.

Sooners, Cowgirls both in play for Ford Center Regional

NORMAN – While not openly acknowledged, this Oklahoma season has always found a coveted carrot dangling out there for postseason play.

Should the Sooners advance to the NCAA Tournament and win their first two games — as they have each of the past two years — they could land in Oklahoma City for the Sweet 16, playing with a home-court advantage to reach the Final Four.

Destination Downtown remains in focus for the Sooners, seemingly recovered from a rough patch and back on the floor tonight against visiting Kansas.

Only it may be a shared vision.

And a Bedlam vision at that.

Oklahoma and Oklahoma State could both find their way to the Ford Center — together.
