It was much celebrated when announced earlier last year.
Can't wait!

I guess I missed that announcement last year. I only heard it because of the new law that Oklahoma wants to put into place. I heard on News 4 that they want to make it illegal for anyone to smoke in a car while children are passengers.

No victory cigars at the tailgate means more victory beers for some.

I am sure it will be like "no alcohol" on campus except game days

as someone who STILL suffers from every respiritory ailment known to man and who grew up trapped in smoky cars, i hope this passes! if people want to kill themselves with tobacco, they can knock themselves out. just don't bring your kids in it. i'm twice as likely to get lung cancer now as someone with a non-smoking parent, just because of my childhood. good times!

We went to lawton to the Home Depot a couple weeks back. As I was coming out of the 7-11 we stopped at to get the kids some juice, I noticed the car sitting in the front with a toddler in the front seat and a 4-6 year old in the back. The kids were smacking at each other over the seats while the car was running. I thought it was initially odd that 2 kids were in the car when it was 20 degrees outside, no kiddie seats, car running, no parent. Then mom comes out on her cell phone smoking a Virginia Slims, hops in her car and throws it in reverse - still smoking, talking and no seats belts. These are the reasons I support non-voluntary sterilization.

I am all for this law! I grew up around smokers. I didn't notice how bad a person smells just from being around smokers.
Whats even worse there all there stuff smell like that too. Most will tell you there house or clothes don't smell. The best thing to show a smoker how bad things smells is to put a skunk under there house and let it spy a few times.

I thought there was more of a stink being raised because it was a no tobacco law, which includes dipping.

I'm still smoke-free.
I'm still the reformed smoker who thinks that smokers stink. Some of my best friends still smoke. I still think they stink. And, I still don't mind telling them that they do.
I'm all for the "No smoking with kids in the car" law. I'm all over it. I totally agree.
I do occasionally "dip". Listen. I know what dipping does to your mouth. I work in the dental field. More damage is done, medically/orally by smoking than that of "dipping". Dipping is no different though. I know that. I'm trying to be completely nicotene free. It's harder than some will ever know. I'm still trying though.
As of 1-30-08 I'll have been smoke free for 3 months. I'll take that.
