You got that right. We build a lead in the first half of the first half with great shot selection. The last 7:00 minutes or so of the half we fall in love with 3 pointers and lose the lead. We play very well about the first 10-13 minutes of the second half and fall apart on offense the last 5-7 minutes. I believe we went 6 minutes without a fieldgoal.
On a positive note, the defense was MUCH better in the second half. I think we held them to 32% in the second.
This team is very frustrating to watch...., they get your hopes up then dash them. I am sure it is even harder to be a member of the team....

After watching the game tonight, you can come to one of two conclusions. Either Texas is not as good as everybody thinks or we're not as bad as our record shows.
Shot selection is still the biggest problem for this team but it is not horrible, just inconsistent throughout the game. I think some of our older players are not patient enough on the offensive end. During the later part of the game, too many times our older players took it into traffic and turned the ball over or took bad shots. And we didn't take advantage of mismatches when we had the chance. Several times we should have cleared our for Anderson or Eaton and allowed them to go right to the basket but we didn't.
However, the effort really impressed me tonight and it has for the past couple of weeks. It appears that Sean and the coaching staff is starting to get through to the player about putting out the effort on the defensive end. The offense is starting to look better at times provided we continue to be patient.
Overall, it appears that things are turning around but it maybe late unless we can sneak out some wins on the road.

I was listening to Coach Sean's radio show last week and he was talking about how bad of a passing team this is. He said we turn the ball over a lot because what should be easy passes for most teams is a bad pass with this team.
That made a lot of sense to me and probably has a lot to do with our poor shot selection as well.

I think it is to late. I don't see us making the tournament unless we can win at least 8 of the remaining 12 regular season games and win at least one in the big XII tourney. Unfortunately, 6 of the remaining 12 are road games. You can also almost guarantee that Kansas at home is a loss so I think we will be lucky to win more than 6 of the games left. We don't make the tourney again and Sean is likely done....

If we win at home on Saturday, then we can win 5 of the last 6 at home (with a loss to Kansas). That would put us 6 conference wins meaning that we would have to win at least 2 games on the road just to break even. Its possible though until they win a road game I'm not going to count on it. I think the only way we get into the tournament would be to win the conference tournament and that's not very likely if we have to face Kansas.
