Prentiss Elliott's football career will continue with the Tulsa Talons arena2football team.
Elliott is a high school All-Stater from Tulsa who went on to a career at Oklahoma State before being dismissed from the team.
Elliott hasn't played organized football since the 2004 season at OSU. He was dismissed by then-new Cowboys coach Mike Gundy in February 2005.
Elliott pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of transporting a firearm and was senteced to 15 days in jail last June.
It will be Elliott's first year in arena football.
“Prentiss is truly a gifted athlete who we are excited about having on our team," said Henry Primeaux, the Talons' general manager and co-owner. "He has size, speed and the ability to catch any ball that is in the area. The Talons understand Prentiss’ past and believe he is committed to placing 100 percent of his efforts toward making our team."
Elliott, 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds, was one of the state's best running backs when he was at Tulsa School of Science and Technology (now McLain). At OSU, Elliott played 12 games as a true freshman in 2004. He had 19 catches for 304 yards, 18 punt returns for 178 yards and 88 yards rushing.
