Ok....here is one that gets rave reviews every time, and its easy as pie, and good for the 4th of july as its red and white.

2 and two thirds cup crushed pretzels (not fine, just busted up into pretty small pieces)...I usually just do 3 cups
2 sticks margarine....I use butter
2 tablespoons sugar.

(Mix and pat into 9x13 baking dish and bake at 350 for 10 min. Let cool

Blend
1 - 8oz pkg. of cream cheese and 1 cup sugar. ( I usually use about a fourth of another cream cheese just for added ooomph) Spread over cooled crust.

Cover with 1 large container of cool whip.....chill

Get 1 lg pkg of strawberry jello and dissolve in 2 cups boiling water, then add the cold...just go by the directions on the stove. Stir in one 10 oz pkg of frozen strawberrys. Chill until partially set (60 min. +)

Spread over cool whip and then chill till ready.

***I usually buy fresh strawberrys and cut them up and freeze them in ziplocks. I just buy a 16oz deal of them and use them all in this recipe. I just hate the look of frozen strawberries from the store, but they do work fine.

It has always tickled me that this dish is called a "salad"! It's delicious, but it's sure more like a cheesecake.

Its good with crushed pinapple in the cream cheese also.

Never had it with the cool whip though. Sounds good.

Ok, made this one today.

I LOVE everything from the pretzels up, but I'm just not that crazy about the salty pretzels mixed with these ingrediants. I'm not big on the sweet/salty combo in the first place. Next time I'm going to make a graham crust on the bottom.

It's good though! I'm going to try different flavor combos of the jello/fruit. Next time i'm going to try peaches and peach flavored jello.

That's funny--the salty pretzel crust is my favorite part! I really like that combo of sweet and salty. I've always thought that crust somehow tastes like it has peanuts in it.

Ha--I'm doing Atkins right now, so I can only dream of food like this...
