Will Opening Day at the New BPS Bring A Uniform Change?

What are the chances that the grand opening of Boone Pickens Stadium will bring additional visual changes on the field of play?

Could there be a well kept secret that there is going to be a uniform color change? I remember not too long ago Coach Gundy said he had always liked the black helmets that the Cowboys wore from 1980 to 1983. Gundy was a freshman in high school the last time the Cowboys wore a black helmet.

So if he had his way, would the white letters be replaced with orange letters? I can see it all now in my crystal ball. I see a color change a comin'.

Those Jimmy Johnson era helmets were never actually that shiny. Black helmets and uni's in the heat? Uh, no. Leave the all black to Tech. Black is OK as a secondary, contrasting color to offset orange or white but not as the primary color for football. IMHO.

I just don't get why OSU has to gimmick its look. What's wrong with staying with the same uniform? What's wrong with tradition?

I'm more curious if anything is planned for the Georgia game like special entertainment or commemorative programs or special guests or a kickass video of the history of OSU football.

I'm with you. I really like the Gundy/Sanders era white jerseys with the thick orange stripe with the thinner black on either side on the sleeves, block numbers without the slant. That's my favorite.

Sorry, but I see nothing classic about the Nike cookie-cutter uniform scheme or whatever it is we wear now. We've never had a consistent look, but I'd like to see the older uniform style of the 80's brought back as well. But it'll never happen, we're Nike's b*#ch now.

Remember, we might be Nike's b&%*h, but Nike is all about making money, and every time Nike releases a new or alternate jersey, it's like the company writes a blank check to itself.

I also think one home game a year would be cool to have a black uni.

But, that being said, I love our current unis, and I see absolutely no chance of a change.
