Joe was not quite as provocative as Bill Young. I get the impression it takes a LOT to impress Joe Wickline. He did say he was very impressed with our front seven on defense this spring and that OSU fans could lookforward to a very improved defense this fall.

He said "we are a HUNGRY football team". I liked this statement. The team and the coaching staff thinks they can and should do better than last year. They know they have something special(barring injuries) going on in Stillwater. He said this staff is very talented, very dedicated, and very much on the same page.

He went through some player personel comments but nothing that really stood out. One thing that caught me off-guard was his OL pecking order. I thought Franklin would be on one side and Rush on the other. He indicated that they were fighting for the same spot and that Morgan and Adcock were vying for the other guard. He said some funny stuff like Franklin has been around for 12 years so it's about time he started a game. he said if Franklin did not start that Holder was going to fire him because Holder has been watching Noah lift weights and that if Wick couldn't coach a guy that was that strong he probably shoiuld not be coaching.

Nice line here. Wick is definitely old school. He complimented the new facilities but said they did change a thing. He did not think we would win an extra game this fall because we had a leather sofa in the players lounge. He said games are won because one team out blocks, out tackles, and out plays the other team. The seniors on this team have not had a bunch of luxuries while at OSU but they will go out winners because they have worked hard, followed the game plan, and executed. He said nothing will change because of the new facilities. The coaches plan on continuing to try to out work other teams. There is no complacency on this staff.

We also had some nice conversation before the meeting started. Wick is a very profound guy. He does not beat around the bush. I am glad he is on our side.

Also surprised by the alignment of the O-Line. Franklin and Rush certainly appeared to be our two best guards. IMO, Morgan needs a redshirt year. His technique needed substantial coaching and when that is mastered he will still need to learn to make the called adjustments at the line of scrimmage. Based on the performance of Mitchell and Morgan, both Juco AAs, it would be hard to believe that Adcock can enter the program after the Spring sessions and be in contention for a starting position this year. Fully expect to see Morgan and Adcock start at guard and tackle for the 2010 season.
