Saw it today.

Hated it....and that's saying alot because I've liked everything Abrams has been involved in.

I don't want to give any spoilers, but I mostly found it boring and predictable with no big "payoff". Basically, it gave me a headache and motion sickness and that's about it.

Im afraid I have too high of expectations for it......

Ive been sucked in by the viral ad campaign. Im fearing I will be let down as well.

Oh well, I may like it.

LOL.....I cursed myself for falling for the hype.

I'm serious about the motion sickness thing. It uses the same techniques as Blair Witch. I had to move up to the top row so my whole field of vision wasn't occupied by the screen I was getting so nauseous.

Okay, I saw it this afternoon. Almost didnt make it, couldnt leave till Riley put the last nail in the Aggies coffin.

I really liked the movie, just hate that he chose to film it in first person perspective. Even if they had filmed it where it looked first person, but wasnt so shakey it would have been better.

I thought the concept was great, the storyline was great, the visual effects were great, the only downfall was how it was filmed. And, that is a big hit.

Even with the poor film technique, I give it 3 stars!

I too saw it today and liked it! My biggest worry was that the camera would shake right about when we were going to see the creature(s) and we would never see them. So since that didn't happen, I enjoyed the movie thoroughly.

By the way, sitting on the back row made the shaking camera bearable.

Heard if you were over 30 you wouldn't like it.

We saw The Orphanage, friday night. A film made in Spain, that has gotten great reviews. We liked it. Not as much as the reviewers, but it was good. A ghost story that was intense at times, but not to bad. Worth seeing though. Sub titles

I saw a preview for the orphanage & will put it in my Netflix queue.

Im not much on subtitles, but it looks good.

At least I know going in, that it has sub titles. I had no clue with Pans Labrynth. When I put the DVD in and it was in spanish, with subtitles, I just took it out & sent it back. I wasnt in the mood!

Im 35 and liked Cloverfield.
For what its worth.

Saw Cloverfield last Tuesday in a preview. I didn't like it because of the camera. Story and FX were good but not enough to outweigh the shaky perpective.
