a trend of this board slowly increasing its viewer/poster base. I usually do a quick add of the people viewing the top two boards when I sign on and it seems the mid day total is around 50 now. I like Annie's board and hope it continues to grow.:)

I like to refer to it as "Anniverbenandy".

Yes, because there is no way Verb and I would own this board-and have it running as smooth as it is- w/out Andy and Ben. They have been huge.

I think it's only going to get better Logic. We went online with this thing during what is typically a very slow time of the year for sports, and also with hoops not going so great. That went against us.

We have new users signing up every single day!

I love it!

Well I can tell you this is my favorite board. I do not really post, but I appreciate not having to sift through all the drivel on other boards. At least most people here do not seem to go off the deep end at every turn...

This board uses the exact same... I don't know what it is... engine or host or something that my Spurs board does:

We have a vBookie on it that is much fun. Is that like a premium addon or can that be done here?

Explain to me what "Vbookie" is...

Lots of addons that can/will be done. Andy and i have spent much of the last few days going over all of them. Chat is up here, and other things will be added. We just have to read read read and get up on all the things that can be done on VBulletin sites.

It is a betting thing. You get x amount of cash (as prescribed by the vbookie mod - whomever you make it) and this vbookie mod makes weekly or daily or whatever bets. Such as the NFL playoff games or Spurs games or OSU games.

On Spurstalk, you start with 1000. You bet on stuff the mod makes. The mod entices bets by sweetening the odds. For instance, on the Spurs/6ers game the over/under was 188. The odds for under were 2/1, over was 1/1, and exactly 188 was 100/1. Last weeks NFL games were by the spread, and I won both. I didn't expect SD to win, but I thought it would be less than the 8.5 or 9.5 points whatever it was. I thought NYG would win anyway.

Spurstalk also has some sort of mechanism in place where if you have 0 dollars overnight, it gives you a free 25 bucks. I actually blew my whole 1000 on a couple bad bets. I got the free 25 bucks and have built it up to 1425 betting 25 here and 75 there.

You should look at the link up top for the board and you can click on the vBookie link at the top middle.

If you are interested I could ask the Spurstalk mod (Kori) or the guy who does the bets (timvp) where it comes from. It would be a very slow spring/summer season but vBookie REALLY heats up during the football season. I don't know if it would be a pain in the ass or not, but if it runs well it would be an attraction to the site and would ensure people visit the site with frequency if they are interested in the vBookie and how they did. The free money if you run out ensures they will always be able to play.

Anything to do with gambling/betting would be a huge NO NO with the OSU athletic dept. I hope to eventually establish a good relationship with them, and be able to take some photos for the site. If they saw i was doing that here, i would be laughed out the door!

Better not do the gambling thing! (even though it does sound like FUN!)

There's no money involved

I prefer we keep the "gambling" on the sports betting sites and run this one as Annie and others are doing. Occassional posts about the line or odds on a game would be interesting to some-me included-but I will go to a gaming site to place my bets. Not here.:)
