I went out to the ""new"" Mexican restaurant, Palomino's, last night. The owner also owns El Vaquero (and their sister owns the two El Tapatios). There were many recognizable faces working there. Some of the same dishes have slightly different names and there are a few new things on the menu (shark, salmon, and a couple other things). But all in all...it's pretty much just like the other "El" restaurants, except the building is new.
And I heard that El Chico closed its doors this week.
So the Mexican food situation in Stillwater is thus...four restaurants owned by the same family (El Vaquero 'Bo-tap', El Tapatio #1 'El-Tap', El Tapatio #2 'Cat-Tap', and Palomino's), El Jalisco (which is another Guadalajara based restaurant similar to the other "El" places), Mexico Joe's, two burrito places (Qdoba and Chipotle), and three fast food places (Bueno, Taco Hell, and Taco Mayo).
I miss Bobo's...
