Ex-Cowboy QB removes name from NFL Draft, looks at Texas Southern.

HOUSTON -- Former Oklahoma State quarterback Bobby Reid said Tuesday he would consider withdrawing his name from the NFL draft if Texas Southern is able to get a waiver from the NCAA that would allow him to play there.

"I'm fired up about it," Reid told Houston television station KRIV. "If I gotta go, I'm going to go and take care of business the way I know how and try to bring a championship to TSU."

Reid decided to leave Oklahoma State after a junior season in which he was replaced as the Cowboys' starting quarterback by sophomore Zac Robinson. He told the television station he had met with Texas Southern coach Johnnie Cole about the possibility of transferring, but said he wouldn't necessarily pull his name out of the draft even if the school is able to secure a waiver.

"I can't say that right now," Reid said. "I don't want to get anybody's hopes up and then I back door and change my mind."

Reid, who already exhausted his redshirt year, cannot transfer to another school in the Football Bowl Subdivision, formerly known as Division I-A. Texas Southern is a member of the Football Championship Subdivision, formerly called Division I-AA.

"Since I'm a hometown guy, they already know what I bring to the table," Reid said. "I've talked to some of the guys on the team already. They are excited about it."

Good luck in whatever he decides to do. Wish he would have panned out here, but Robinson know how to get the job done. We are in good hands.
