Now Reggie Smith has declared for the NFL draft as well so that means they are losing 3 of their top junior players. I know the money is a big draw but I wonder if anything else is going on...

I guess "silent partner" Don Hudiburg is making 'em work at BRS&I for their slush money.

Smith and Kelly were both projected first rounders, so that's not all that surprising...Lofton was the biggest surprise, IMO, but thinking about it, there's really not much more that he can prove after this season...

From what I heard, Kelly got his official evaluation from the NFL, and it was third round.

It made sense for all three of them to head to the next level.

Kelly got a 2, but from what the Rivals guys said, it's very rare that juniors actually get a 1...I was talking about from the mock drafts that I'd seen, where it looked like Kelly was in the first round (as well as Smith)...

And I agree with your last statement...there's really nothing else they could've proven at this level, so it definitely made sense to move on the NFL...Duke and Loadholt, on the other hand, need work on their footwork....

It's not all that rare than juniors get 1s.....certainly not "very rare".

Well, he could have stuck around to try to win a bowl game!

Really leaves gaps in there defense that they were counting on being the cornerstone of their run next year... lots of gaps they have to fill now...

But knowing OU they will reload with decent percentage of players who will be successful... if the money is right (sorry had to add a jab somewhere)
