Seems the Big 4 conference presidents are against it. Pac 10, Big 10, Big 12 and SEC.

Plus they are thinking about adding Canadian schools to Div. II.

And what size field and how many downs do you get when you play the Canadians?:D

I like the bowl arrangement as is. We will already be playing game 13 for the conference crown and a BCS bowl trip, adding another post bowl trip to our schedule would definitely reduce our group attending all of these trips.

The BCS won't change as long as idiots like us (myself included, sans this year Fox Boycott) keep watching on TV and they keep getting advertising dollars and people keep filling up stadiums for Mythical National championships.

I find myself liking the NFL more and more every year. At least you know the champion earned it there!

this is COLLEGE football, not the NFL... there are almost 120 teams, and when you only play 12 games... it is not possible to get any idea what might be fair or not fair. Some CONFERENCES all the teams don't play each other and they don't have a conf champ game...

a playoff in college is about a stupid as it gets since there is no real basis for making that determination other than the polls... which is what we already have.

The ONLY fair way to do a playoff is to have 8 conferences of 12 teams each (kick out the rest of the teams), each conf has a champ game, let the winners duke it out in an 8 team playoff... if we're not going to do that, then nothing else really makes any sense since it will be based on Polls and on teams that didn't play each other.

The bowls work nicely to reward everybody, and a "champion" is really of no consequence. It really doesn't matter.

I know who the champion in NAIA and Div-2 and Div-3. However, I don't care about those levels of college football.

I guess it's just a matter of personal taste. I don't care that we don't have a playoff in Div. 1 football. I kind of like all the discussion it generates not having one. Personally, I'd prefer to go back to the traditional bowl system and just get rid of the BCS system all together.

but the way that they crown their champion is no more fair than the Poll system.

The Div1-AA playoff is a joke, the way they "select" the participants... it is clearly not "earned".
