I believe 19 is the highest Oklahoma State had ever previously been ranked.

....Duke was to get its first big test in the Atlantic Coast Conference on Monday night against No. 4 Maryland.

"We're getting better every game," Duke coach Joanne P. McCallie said. "It's good timing for us."

Oklahoma tumbled five places to 11th after getting beaten by Oklahoma State 82-63 on Saturday.

The Sooners were followed by Georgia, which lost by 30 to Auburn on Sunday, George Washington, West Virginia and Old Dominion.

Ohio State moved up three places to 16th. Notre Dame dropped three spots to No. 17 after its 56-50 loss at West Virginia on Sunday. Oklahoma State made the biggest move, climbing seven spots to No. 18.

"This is the kind of win that has a chance to help a program take the next step," Oklahoma State coach Kurt Budke said after beating Oklahoma.

It's the highest the Cowgirls have ever been ranked in the poll. They had reached 19th twice, the last time on Jan. 29, 1996.

Texas A&M fell to 19th after losing to Kansas State and then-No. 8 Baylor. Wyoming moved into 20th.

I do not ever remember(before this year) of the women's being ranked

When our bb team went to the Sweet 16 for the 1st time under Eddie, our girls went too that year. They were in-and-out of the Top 25 most of the year. I want to say 1991?
