I hope he is healed up by game time. Is a sprained toe a fairly fast healing injury?

I've had a sprained big toe before, ran into the back of my doubles partner during a tennis match and stubbed it on the back of his heel. I was able to finish the match, just like Byron was able to play the rest of the game. I did have pain cutting on that toe the rest of the match, but nothing I could'nt handle. The next day it was stiff, but most of the pain had subsided. I was treated by putting my foot in a 5 gallon PVC bucket full of ice water for 3 days for about an hour at a time 3 times a night and ibuprofen. I was 100% the following week, no pain, no stiffness, nothing. I know I sprained it because I actually had x-rays done the following day after the match because I was sure I had broken my damn toe. It's very painful at the time of the injury.
So in short, I think Byron will be fine. Last I heard he was in a protective boot just for precautionary measures. I kinda likened it to a jammed finger, your fine with no pain until you bend it that certain way then it hurts. I think Byron will be fine. IMHO.

DOK had a story quoting Byron as saying it was 75% healed as of Tuesday. Hopefully will be close to 100% by Friday...

Should a week of no practice be a concern too?

"An army without leaders is like a foot without a big toe. And Sergeant Hulka isn't always gonna be here to be that big toe for us. I think that we owe a big round of applause to our newest, bestest buddy, and big toe... Sergeant Hulka."
