Oklahoma State University has received notice of students who have had their drinks laced with what is commonly know as the "date rape" drug at establishments off campus.
Authorities have received confirmed reports of the drug's use in the past two weeks, according to a press release from the OSU Police Department.

OSU Spokesman Gary Shutt said Thursday morning he does not know any details of these reports, but because students are involved, the university decided to issue a warning.

The drug, Rohypnol, causes people to feel drowsy and forgetful. It has no taste or odor, and is difficult to detect.

"Everyone is encouraged to take extra precautions to prevent the possibility of becoming a victim," the release states. "A heightened awareness of your surroundings and following a few additional precautions can greatly reduce the chances your drink may contain the sedative."
