Ok, so i don't really have a daughter, but lil Jaycee girl had surgery today. I had her "fixed"

I'm a mean mommy.

:(

I get to pick her up around 3:30. I hope she's not hurting. I've been sick to my stomach all day today worried about her. Gosh i LOVE that lil gal.

Hey, Annie, I hope she comes through with flying colors!

Such cute pics.

Did you see my answer to your pm? I didn't even notice you had pm'd me for 2 days - sorry for being blind.

On the upside, at least you won't have to buy any maternity clothing for her. :D

The word on the street is there could possibly be yet another baby yorkie on this Valentines day. I have all Jaycee's baby clothes, so i'm good. New baby will just have to wear her hand me downs.

Not sure i want another, even though i thought i did. No dog could ever replace her!

AnniePokely,

That kind of surgery is pretty common practice anymore. We had our Becky fixed and she was okay as soon as we brought her home.

I wish I had a scanner. I would post a picture or two of Becky. She was one very special dog. We had her for 16 years, I think. Part Chow, part Spitz. Sweetest, bestest dog I ever had.

Poor Annie--seems like all you do lately is take people (ok, I use that term loosely...) in for surgery any more. I hope after THIS one, you don't have to do any waiting and worrying for a nice, long time.

Well congratulations you extended her life.

yes, getting her fixed means the virtual elimination of risks for several types of cancers as well.

we will be getting our new little lab gracie fixed, but she just had her last litter of puppies in december. there is no telling how many litters she's had in her 5 year old life having lived in a puppy mill. :( i'll be glad when she has the surgery and we don't have to worry about her getting in trouble again. she will have another litter over my dead body!

I pick up Emme and our two cats (Tucker and Tessa) in about an hour. All three had their elective surgery yesterday. Well, I guess they really had no vote.

The two girls had no idea where they were going yesterday, but I believe Tucker figured it out some how, because he decided he was not going to cooperate in getting ready for his little trip.

My mother had a great male Yorkie for many years.

Beebee is home, and sound asleep beside me here on the couch. Poor lil thang.

I won't be able to move off this couch. She cries when i leave her sight!

It disturbs me greatly when animals are in physical or mental distress.

I can tell when Madde, our 10 year old vizsla female, is having a bad dream, because she makes this very faint crying noise.

Yea, it disturbs me me greatly as well. I'm WAY toooooo soft hearted when it comes to animals. I can't count the stray/abused animals i have taken in because i just don't have the heart to let one suffer. I've had to realize i can't save them all. I had to quit horse rescue because it just caused me too much stress.

I've never had a relationship with a animal like i have with her. Call me weird or whatever, but she's my heart. We just "get" each other.

Does she bark at or act like she is going to bite strangers?

Glad to hear that she is home and resting! I know what you mean about an animal "getting" you. That was my Tucker dog, who we lost 4 years ago to a tick disease. I love all 4 of my current dogs to death, but don't have that special connection with any of them.

You say you love her, but then you post photos of her being abused.

Dog clothes...........oh man.

She does NOT like anyone approaching my truck when she's in it w/me. She's very protective of me. So much so that she took on three of my horses once. Yes, all 5 pounds of her. It nearly scared me to death. It took me 5 minutes to catch her. She ran at them in the pasture, and i was running at them waving my arms and screaming, trying to get them to run away from her, while she was barking and running at them. I thought i would kill her when i caught her!

She also goes into a store with me, in her carrier, and never makes a peep the entire time we are in there. She's sat in a hospital recovery room for an hour, and they never knew she was in there. I threw my jacket over her carrier, and she just sat there. It's like she knows she's not supposed to make noise, so she just sits there and looks around! She's a people watcher.

I think she's good. Her daddy and i took her to bed early last night (around 7 pm) so she would sleep good with both of us being in bed...yes, she's THAT spoiled. It didn't hurt me going to bed that early anyway, i feel great today!

She's sleeping, but was wide eyed and bushytailed earlier. ;)

She's been wanting to play ball, and i won't let her. She's just fine. Already back to acting like herself. Amazing.

When i was "fixed" i couldn't move for a week..:p
