Martin graduated high school early to join spring practices.

STILLWATER -- Highly-rated Oklahoma State recruit Markelle Martin has joined the football team for the spring semester, OSU coach Mike Gundy said in a press release from the university.

Martin, a Class 4A all-state player from Texas, played safety and receiver at Rider High School in Wichita Falls. He's ranked as the No. 14 safety prospect in the country by Rivals.com, and is ranked as the No. 51 player in Texas by the same service.

He graduated from Rider in December and skipped the final semester of his high school senior year to come to OSU early.

Martin, 6-foot-2 and 185-pounds, had five interceptions and 81 tackles in his senior season. He joins seven junior college players entering OSU for the spring semester. The other spring newcomers include safety Lucien Antoine, defensive tackle Chris Donaldson, defensive back Maurice Gray, running back Beau Johnson, defensive tackle Swanson Miller, offensive lineman Andrew Mitchell and defensive end Jeremiah Price.
