Other than me?
I checked the numbers on Saturday, pulled up the website and went to where the numbers were. First, I looked at the Powerball number and saw that it was a 5. Sweet! I have that. I then looked at the first of the numbers. 2, I have that! 11, I have that!! Just as I was getting excited and thinking maybe I was going to hit it big... I for some reason decided to make sure I had the right numbers. Damn it! Those were the numbers drawn for the January 2nd drawing not the January 5th drawing. I guess they hadn't posted Saturday's numbers yet or I hadn't refreshed my browser. sheesh, and I was going to invite you all to my new suite at Boone Pickens Stadium.

No offense, and I would say this to anyone, but I've always considered the lottery and powerball, kind of like a tax on those that didn't pay attention in math classes.

I'm a whiz at math. It's entertainment. I've pretty much broken even playing Powerball. What's your point?

Its a voluntary tax, that serves as entertainment.
Just becuase you dont play doesnt make you any smarter than anyone else.

What do your math classes tell you about Ron Paul's chances of winning, Einstein? It seems you may not be so good at numbers.
For most people it's money spent for entertainment. I'm sure you drop a few bucks on things that would make people say "huh?"

I understand he's gonna spend some money going to Nevada for Ron Paul.....a perfect example.:D

Personally, I'd rather spend money on Powerball than a political campaign, talk about throwing money away!

Yes I play Powerball every drawing. Last of the big time gamblers. 1 quick pick with the Powerplay. A whopping 2 dollars. The way I look at it...I piss away more than that every week on stuff I buy just to be buying.
It's entertainment and that is all it is.
But........
every week people win money and in some cases it is big money. So if someone is going to win money why shouldn't it be me?

There are four of us at work that play. We each pick our numbers and do the power play. The max it cost each of us is $18 a month. Usually we win a little each month....last night we won $9. No biggie....we play for fun...of course we hope to win big, but mainly just for fun.
My thought is there are two drawings a week...$2...play the power play and you're looking at $4 a week. That's $208 a year.....IF you NEVER win. It's cheap entertainment. We split $500 one month. If you can't afford it....don't play.....but don't criticize those that do.
