we were close. Interestingly enough two Big-10 teams played more games versus the final USA top 25. It might also argue that even in the final rankings the Big-10 is over valued.

I believe Pokevette is the statistician and would look for him to expand this:

Based on the USA poll of the season ending top 25 we played 5 of them and won 1. I thought comparing that to other teams in the poll would be interesting.

This really shows that LSU was very strong and that Oregon if had kept its QB might have been in the hunt. Poor MU they had to essentially play OU twice and both were away games.

I think this also shows that we are in the hunt, improve the defense to the mid-70s and we will be well ranked.

based on cumulative records of opposition; looks like the Aggies had it "hardest", with OSU 4th.

Totally agree, we had a darn hard schedule. I mean 4 of our 6 losses were to teams who finished in the Top-10 for the season.

My only concern is we lost to two teams who I really don't think we should have lost to. We had the game at A&M won, and we were stupid. Despite the drubbing that we took, we should NEVER lose to a team like Troy regardless of where the game is played. Likewise, when you have a 3-TD lead at home to a team (even if it is Texas) you should win that game.

Gundy has shown a trend of not quite getting out of his teams what one might expect. If Les Miles were still in Stillwater I think we would have won at least 9 games regular season, probably more. With a Bowl win, an 11-2 season under Les would have been very possible.

I think are talent is getting better. I do think our young Coaching staff is getting better. The question is when will things "click" for us like it did for Kansas this year? I hope it happens soon....

An 11-2 season with Les Miles would have meant a National Championship Game apparently

If we give up 70 something every game we won't win one! :D
