It's basketball time in full gear now.Has everyone jumped ship, as indicated by the horrible attendance? Or does Sean have them on the right track?
IMO,I like the way our guards are developing. Eaton is playing well. Hopefully Obi can heat up. He had to play better to take some pressure off Anderson and Harris. Thomas seems to be playing well. What's everyones thoughts on upcoming league play? I say we beat tech in our league opener.
On a side note, I'm posting from my blackberry. Anyone else lose power in Edmond?
I haven't gotten a chance to really see them play--not so easy to who's doing what when you watch on MVP.
I like your positive attitude about our team, though. I'm really sick of all these people who think firing coaches is the appropriate response to a bad game.

We have missed several non-conference games this year.....more than in years past total. Partially because we had things going on....but also we opted to do some other things instead of going to the games because of the weak play of the team and who the opponents were. I know we won't miss any conference games though and I think overall, attendance should pick up alot. Maybe I'm wrong. But I hope it does and hope everyone is loud...in a positive manner. Regardless of what you think about the coaches, the team needs the support.

I for one, havent given up on our team. But, I dont hold out much hope for our coach.
I supported his hiring, and really want to see him succeed, but with each game it just seems as if he is digging a deeper hole. As much as I fully support the Sutton family, Im sorry, Sean has been a failure at Head Coach so far. There is too much talent on this team for them to be playing this bad.
We have too much history and success at OSU for this to be acceptable, regardless of the personal feeling about the coach. Im just afraid that if the team continues to regress, it might get to a point that it takes another coach several years to get it back on track.
Something needs to be done, sooner rather than later.
Again, I like Sean, he just doesnt seem to be the right coach for the job.

I fear Sean is about a 3-game Conference losing streak from being gone. The next seven games give ample opportunity of losing three straight. It would not surprise me one bit that Sean does not survive January.

I haven't seen a game since the ORU fiasco, but I've listened to all of them on the radio/Internet. And you can learn a lot about how guys are playing just by studying some of the more advanced statistics.
I'm encouraged by Eaton's progress (and I've not been his biggest fan in the past). I'm also encouraged by the progress defensively. The offense has struggled at times, and they rely on Anderson a LOT offensively, so that's a concern. But they've been working really hard, and that was missing last year (because of the lack of depth). So I think they will improve as the season progresses, unlike last year.
I think they match up really well with Tech. I hope Sean puts Dove on Zeno, and Harris on Voskuil. If the crowd does show up "ready to play," I think the Pokes will win.

I don't think even the crowd can help this team. This is the first team at OSU I can remember that takes its own crowd out of the game more than the other team does. I was at ORU and the crowd tried hard to get in the game, only to be snuffed out by a horrible shot, turnover, or defensive lapse.

Last night was dead at GIA, but Joe's was also dead. Few students in town, a weak opponent = low turnout

I think the team has improved since then. Time will tell.

Last nights crowd was much better than the last one when we played the night the goons played in the fiesta bowl. There were like 14 students there. It was so bad, I can't remember who we played, lol.
I've been to most of the games, and spend way to much time talking with friends than cheering. That team is hard to watch, and not much to cheer. Not being critical, just the way it is this year.

It's just one game... but the effort, and the defense, and yes, the crowd were all there today. :D
