I remember when our program was in the doldrums under Simmons, and many of you longed for Les Miles' return to OSU.
I hate that we were a stepping stone. I hate the way he left. But, in some small way, we are connected to this MNC.
Congratulations LSU. And New Orleans better get the drunk tanks ready.:D

If Miles had been upfront & honest instead of sneaky & deceitful about his interest in LSU, I would have some respect for the guy. Im thankful for what he did at OSU, just hate the way he left. I dont dislke the guy, but I wont go out of my way to cheer for him.
This game wasnt all that interesting for me.
But its nice to see that if he actually gameplans against the Buckeyes instead of interviewing, he can get something done.

I agree, I am not mad that he left. I am mad about HOW he left.

I'm just glad that he brought in Gundy; which got the new ball rolling.

Wasn't he forced to as a condition to the hiring?

See, I was thinking that as well. Are we just not remembering right?

Les Miles was a great coach and incredible difference maker for OSU, I will always pull for him except when we get an opportunity to beat him.
Les denied himself part of this salary in order to be able to use that money to hire assistants at competitive rates. I believe a significant piece of his salary was given to Mike Gundy, in fact, I seem to recall message board rumbling that our then OC was over paid. In any case Les' vision allowed us to bring strong coaches and recruiters to Stillwater. His work with Terry Don Phillips resulted in the multi-year contracts for the assistants.
Without 16-13, would we be where we are? Would Boone have been willing to invest in the program without that difference making win?
People interview all the time for other positions without telling their boss, I wish we could take the high road and congratulate him, and set our goal to be better than what he has achieved with LSU.
