You are very right. LA Clippers and Washington have eyes for that bottom spot too. It will be interesting to see which team is able throw the most games without being obvious.

Correct, even the absolute worst team's odds in the lottery are only 1 in 4 to get the first pick, and the difference in odds between worst team and 3rd worst team aren't huge. At the end of the day, it comes down to luck of the draw.

but don't one of the four worst teams have something like a 70% change of getting the number one pick (out of 14 teams in the lottery)?
I think they put in this process to prevent teams from throwing games to be the worst (i.e., automatic #1)...

The percentage in 2008 was actually 72.4. You were very close, CC.
The 14 teams that do not qualify for the playoffs vied for the number one draft pick in 2008.
