A poster on GP.com claims that Brewer was on a plane this morning heading out to Minneapolis MN to interview for the OC job. Man, I really hope this is just a rumor.

The poster claims "long time reader, first time poster" at the begining of his thread. Anyone heard anything not from GP.com?

Where was it confirmed? I'm not finding anything. I wonder if this is a money issue. I thought we were paying excellent salaries.

Maybe its just a negotiating tool?

He can tell Gundy that UM offered him the OC job, and he can actually be the OC in duties and not title only.

It may be a ploy to get a couple things: 1. More Money 2. Play Calling duties.

Who knows.

The newspaper, citing a source with knowledge of the situation, said Brewer was in Minnesota Thursday to interview for the job.

Minnesota coach Tim Brewster could name his new offensive coordinator as soon as Monday, the report said.

I met Brewer this past summer and the guy is infectious. I hope we keep him.

Boss 24, if you'll come by the office, I can get you a shot for that infection.

Is Brewer looking elsewhere an indication that the current offensive playcalling scenario is not working? What if Gundy took a hands off approach to the offense as he has done with the defense and just managed the team as a whole?

What isn't working about it? Oklahoma State once again finished with one of the nation's most prolific offenses in terms of both yardage and points scored, so obviously, the "scenario" is working out to some extent...

I think the difference though is that Gundy doesn't understand the defense like he understands the offense, and he's said several times he likes having a direct hand in at least one aspect of the team.

Wasn't that one of Gundy's big complaints with Miles, that Les wouldn't allow Gundy to call all of the plays that he wanted too? It seems sort of funny that he would be doing the same thing.

Yeah, convenience store down the street from my office just got a new shipment of High Life this morning. I could hear the truck all the way over here.

Just because the offense is prolific does not mean there aren't issues with the coaches and the way the calls are being made.

Hell, there's nothing to understanding our defense; it sucks.

Then what you're talking about is a personal issue between coaches - not the way the offense itself is functioning. And I'm not saying there might not be some friction within the staff - the coaches themselves have admitted that - but I think it might be a little misleading to assume that those differences are such that it's caused the staff to disband.

All I am saying is something is going on. With new facilities including new coaches offices and a chance to run for the national title this season, I don't understand why all the defections. Either Gundy is working them too hard or there are personality conflicts or something else. It can't all be about money.

Maybe not, but the reality says that a lot of it is.

Gundy believes he knows what play to call every down, every situation. That was why he didn't like being the OC under Miles. He still thinks that way now, and IMO that's why we'll have a hard time keeping an OC under Mike Gundy. It'd be tough for an OC here to get the reputation necessary to make the next step in their career to Head Coach. Everyone knows Gundy calls the plays.
