The Cowboys beat the Hawkeyes 19-14 in Iowa this evening.

This includes a win by Jake Dieffenbach over Mark Perry. Any time Perry loses, it's a very good day.

An additional piece of info from the game is that both Tyler Shinn and Jack Jensen were present and made weight. They are now eligible to wrestle now that school has started today, so I will be interested to see who will be starting at 125 and 184 this weekend at the virginia Duals.

Ben Ashmore has shown signs of practically being there. He's had some real tough competition at his weight and has been blown out, but he hasn't really turned the corner. He's made some freshman mistakes and maybe having competition at the weight will be good for him, but I think Tyler's experience will give him the nod, especially since he's made weight.

I would say that Jack get shis chance this weekend since Cody Hill has been pretty unremarkable. He's done ok, but he is always gassed in the third period, and I haen't seen any improvement in that part of this game, so I'm sure Jack will get his chance to see what he can do.
