I'm wanting to have one made for my mom. The one Backhome got for Christmas is exactly like the one i have wanted made for awhile now. Can anyone tell me where i can have one made? Is there someone you know that does it?

I want to do it now, so it will be finished in time for my mom's birthday in March.

Please help! This will be something my mom will cherish, and i have some ideas of things to personalize it just for her.

Thanks!

Mom made mine. She said it wasn't fun. I think that there were some like over 300 squares (including the back side) that had to be sewed together. After you get it together then you have to make about 6 cuts on each side of each square to get it to fray. The one thing that she learn was the back needed to be something other than black because of all of the lent and little strings. I will say that it was special and my eyes almost started to water (OK a little) when I opened it up.

Backhome, yours is just gorgeous. What a wonderful gift, and what time and effort must've gone into it!

Is there a photo of yours Backhome? My wife has said she's going to make me one and the more options I can give her the better. The NFL quilt she made me rocks but it's so nice I'm afraid to use it :)

Inky, it's on the Christmas presents thread.

It's on the main sports page--I bumped it to the top for you.

Are there any church ladies there that meet weekly and quilt? If so, you might be able to get 'em to do it.

My mother-in-law does custom quilts. I believe she charges around $450 for full size quilts. She does good work, IMO. I'd gladly email her contact info to anyone interested in one.

You know ever since the quilt pic and this thread, me and the wife have been discussing making quilts. We have been looking online and different patterns, techniques and whatnot. I think we are going to make a tshirt quilt out of all of my old OSU tshirts I never throw away.

Cool idea.

I have a couple of t-shirts dating back to my freshman year--1975! (One is my Women of Willard shirt, from the famous Wall Day.) I'll never throw them away.

My OSU quilt is being started today! I'm soooo excited! I found a lady that was willing to make it. I bought the material, and it's being made!

PS: Ssssshhhhhhh, it's my mom's birthday gift. Her bday is March 6th.
