The Oklahoman

Sportsmanlike conduct

I’m an Oregon fan who attended the Holiday Bowl in San Diego. I was pleased with the outcome, of course, but I want to congratulate Oklahoma State fans for their attitude, conduct and sportsmanship. There were many proud Cowboys in their orange at my hotel. I enjoyed meeting many of them before the game. Most of them enjoyed friendly banter, but none of them resorted to the trash-talking I’ve encountered from opposing teams at other bowl games.

After the game, most OSU fans I came across congratulated the Ducks for a hard-won victory. Had Dez Bryant stayed healthy, perhaps the outcome would have been different. In any event, I’ll be rooting for the Pokes down the line.

The drunk Oregon fans I encountered didnt have any at all. Almost got in a fight before and after the game....and we didnt say a word either time.

I doubt we will see a similar letter next week from a Florida fan.

A drunk Oregon fan (which was a woman) took a swing at my brother after he called security to take her away. Luckily she was so drunk she missed and just hit the brim of his cowboy hat.

i found them to be the gooners of the west. this one drunk one was yelling "choklahoma state" at the top of his lungs after the game. i was like "dude, your team won! why are you embarrassing your school like this?" i guess they don't do anything like remain in the stands to sing their alma mater and celebrate with their team there.
