How are things going? Continued improvement? I guess no news is good news, but I'm just curious. Did she stay up to ring in the new year? :D

I'm sorry, things have just been nuts around here. I'm running in overdrive.
Things are ok. She's very, very weak, and sleeping a lot. She slept from NYE 7pm until NYD 7 pm. I kept waking her up to take meds, eat a bite, etc... Her bloodwork that was drawn at dialysis last week wasn't so great. White blood count elevated, red blood count too low, anemia levels high, protein very low, etc... they are working on it. Also, the kidney counts aren't good at all. We had hoped they would be good since he opened up the renal artery while he was in there working on the aneaursysms. But, no such luck. Looks like dialysis will continue as usual. That really bummed her out. I wish the doctors hadn't even mentioned possibly cutting it out. It's just made me have to work even harder with her. She doesn't like dialysis, and hasn't wanted to go since we've been home. But, i'm winning the battle. I'm trying to get her time changed. Getting up at 4 am is only making things worse.
She collapsed two nights ago in the tub. She didn't have the strength to stand back up. As little as she is, i had to work pretty hard to get her out of the tub. She's just so weak, and dead weight is a monster. But we made it, and everything was ok.
Things are going ok though. Nothing drastic that i can't handle. I think she's very depressed. The doctor thinks so as well. But, that's to be expected follwing such a serious surgery. They have put her on something to help with that.
It's going to be a slow process, but i know that, and i'm prepared to do whatever it takes to get her back 100%. It's only been 21 days since surgery.
btw, the nurse counted the staples when she removed them. 154. Wow! That's alot.
Bless her little heart..she sent her home health care worker to go pick up a birthday cake she had made for me today, for tomorrow. She also sent her to buy me a few new Willow Tree figurines, which i collect. She's so sweet.
Thanks for asking about her. That was super sweet of you to do.
