I have AT&T at my office and home. I am thinking about changing to Cox Internet at home.
What are the pros and cons to Cox and AT&T?

I get great performance from my cox cable modem. I've only used DSL up here at work for our satellite offices. It's OK, but we've had a lot of problems with AT&T lately. Our DSL connection at one of our offices has had more problems than I've had cable modem problems over the past eight plus years since I first got it. Cox is definitely faster for the same money, but most people wouldn't notice much of a difference.

I have DSL at home and have been completely satisfied. I have friends who have Cox and they tell me that Cox is faster then my DSL, but I have no complaints with the speed of my DSL.

I have AT&T DSL at home and have been satisfied, as well. I pay $20/month (plus fees/taxes) for it. The download speed is around 1.5Mbps (I could get faster speeds for a higher price). I'm pretty sure the main Cox package is faster than that, but is also closer to $40/month. For what I do (general surfing, email, the occasional online game), the basic speed is fine for me.
What about your current setup do you want to change (faster downloads, less cost, get rid of phone line)?

I was thinking about the Cox bundle, but I don't see that much if any savings.
I agree with your analysis of AT&T DSL, and my needs appear to be about the same as yours.
If I currently did not need a phone line for outgoing faxes, I might consider getting rid of my land line. The lack of cell phone clarity at times is still a issue. I have been using Myfax.com for nearly all my incoming faxes for almost a year now.

Yeah, DSL is cheaper, but it's not cheaper if you have no need for a landline. That's why I'm happy to get the much faster Cox package with no landline instead of having to pay for a landline with DSL. I do agree though that DSL is plenty fast for most people if you still have a need for a landline.
I have had both, and Cox has more bandwith, and is faster.
When I had DSL I can tell when someone else is downloading a file. With Cox, I can not tell . And it's been proven by tests that Cox is faster than DSL.

I have DSL and have had no issues. It works great for us and we enjoy the price difference.

Well, as your friendly AT&T representative.....:)
There is naked DSL (no landline needed for DSL) in some locations. Not sure if it's available in your area, but I could check for you.
I heard there's a package deal out for $69 now that includes DISH, DSL, landline, LD. That's pretty cheap.

you might have to call AT&T, Legal. I know my sister was able to get this deal in OKC. She saw it on a tv ad
