I love when humanity shines bright! What a great coach to do this. A good story to read this time of the year. Enjoy.

Wow. That is a truly touching story. I'm surprised it hasn't gotten a lot of play in DFW.

Amazing story. Got me a little choked up. Says a lot about the coach and the parents/supporters.

That was excellent! We should hear more about those type stories.

Love Rick Reilly and his columns. He's found scores and scores of stories like this. I definitely recommend "The Life of Reilly" and "Hate Mail From Cheerleaders" if you like this story. Both are anthologies of his columns. Good, good stuff.

I shed a silent tear when Reilly quit writing for SI... he always had a nice column on the last page.

Don't know if you ever pick up ESPN The Magazine or not, but he writes for it and also ESPN.com these days (which is great, because like you, I was afraid when he left SI he was done).
