Did anyone notice that when the "gifts" were presented before the game that the applause for Holder was not very loud? Or was it just where we were sitting? Also, what was with Holder wearing JEANS??!! I know......Brad Henry had on jeans too, but at least he was wearing a blazer!
Sorry....bash me all you want, but I thought it was tacky.
Also....I have a video of the pregame parchutes I took with my camera. If anyone is interested in seeing it, let me know. I'll get someone to post it since I don't know how.

As i said before , I was in a mix of Orange and Red, and I believe our fans cheered more loudly for Ms. Hep, than they did for Boone and Holder. And yes it is comparing apples to oranges (no pun intended).
In other regards yes Holder was in jeans.

IMO, Indy fan was just 'jazzed to be on the show' and would have cheered for a death-row inmate if he was from Indiana before the game. I thought Holder got some nice applause; henry was just more golf clap. I sort of thought it was tacky to give something to Boone, but they were one way or another going to work Mrs. Hepp into the show so they had to include 'the biggest fan' from OSU as well.
I thought the whole gift ceremony was WAAAAAAY too long.
I have other questions/observataions, so I guess I will put them here:
- How did we look on TV in the stands? It seemed to me that Indy had the 2 corners filled with lots of corp seats in the middle empty, while we had everything between the corners filled.
- I saw the attendance was 48+k; any news on how many we brought? I know many were worried Ornage wasn't going to make it, but I think we showed VERY well for a game not in the normal confides of a day's drive.
- Did anyone at the game get the same feeling I did about the Indy student section? Ok, don't flame me here, I realize I am an OSU fan and we don't have a ton of history to fall back on, but it seemed to me that Indy student section didn't have a clue about friendly bowl ettiquite, if you know where I am going. Maybe we need to be more that way, I don't know, but I thought their section was very hostile and rude. The boo'd the okies reps (AD/Gov/Boone), they did their little 'you suck' cheer while we played our songs, they boo'd the AF Cadet with the OSU flag, the boo'd the band, their band played during our alma mater, etc etc. I just thought it was very evident they had not been to a bowl game before (the students). It was really rubbing me the wrong way for a bit. Of course by about 5 mins to go in the 1st qtr, they had completely shut up, so its all good.
- WTF is up with B10 teams taking a 50/60s pop tune and making it one of their fight songs?
- I really like the way they played that oompah song (I think atm plays it for some cheer as well) for their 1st downs. Pretty snazzy and gets everyone in sync.
- If you know anyone from the AD that does planning, the pep rally out in the middle of BFE the might before is a bad idea. I think the best ones have been immed before the game (Houston/Indep). The Indep was the best by far and we got the team to walk thru during it, so everyone was already there for the walk, plus Walt was there and we saw a video, etc. The walk in SA was nice, as well.

CaptMike, on a previous thread I addressed the IU student enthusiasm as well. I have never seen an armed forces member boo'd before, about as low class as it comes.
Boone was not in jeans, Holder was sans blazer. He probably should have had his orange blazer.
The stadium seats roughly 70K, for the bowl the configuration is supposedly 52K, my estimate was 30-32K bodies. The upper deck east side was roughly half full and there didn't appear to be cramping anywhere other than the IU ticket corners on the west side.
The stadium itself is a nice venue to see a game. The upper deck is like our new level in GIA and close to the action. The 'Facilities' are severely lacking, only two bathrooms for the upper deck, add in the beer, I'll bet it gets real restless for evening games in November.
