Unsung hero: Terrel Harris scored a season-low seven points, but he played a key role in Oklahoma State's 86-82 triumph over Rhode Island in the All-College Classic.

Harris was the primary defender on Rams guard Jimmy Baron, who ranks fourth among the nation's active college basketball players in career 3-pointers.

Baron, who hit eight 3-pointers in a three-point loss at Duke, scored a quiet 15 points against OSU and made only 2-of-6 shots from 3-point range. He didn't get off a field goal attempt in the first 11 minutes.

OSU coach Travis Ford said Harris did a tremendous job, but he also said it was a team effort because the Cowboys switched and doubled on Baron.

Unsung hero II: Anthony Brown didn't get off the bench until 6:04 remained in the game. At the time, Rhode Island led by a point. Brown made two big blocks down the stretch, including one that led directly to a James Anderson bucket.

"Coach told me just to keep my head and he said I was going to get in the game, so that was what I did," said Brown. "I knew the team needed a win and it was a good Christmas gift to the team and the coaches, as well."

Brown also may have had a little bit of extra incentive. He is from Brooklyn, N.Y., and he knew some of the Rhode Island players because he played against them in high school or on summer circuits.

Good karma? Not really: Rhode Island returned to a city where the Rams claimed one of their biggest wins in school history. They won a second-round NCAA Tournament game against top-seeded Kansas at the Myriad (located right across the street from the Ford Center) in 1998. The Rams advanced to the Elite Eight that season.
