This weekend's Bedlam game is the ninth in series history in which both the Cowboys and Sooners are ranked in the Associated Press poll. Here's a look at the other eight games.

Where they ranked

Where OU and OSU ranked in the years that both teams were ranked going into the Bedlam game:

Year OU OSU
2008 3 11
2004 2 20
2003 1 14
1988 8 12
1987 1 12
1985 3 17
1984 2 3
1975 2 19
1972 3 20

Oct. 30, 2004

No. 2 Oklahoma 38, No. 20 Oklahoma State 35

at Stillwater

ESPN's GameDay is there and Bedlam lives up to the hype. OU's Adrian Peterson has a huge day, but OSU quarterback Donovan Woods leads a fourth-quarter comeback. The rally falls short when Jason Ricks' 49-yard field goal in the final seconds barely misses.

NOV. 1, 2003

No. 1 Oklahoma 52, No. 14 Oklahoma State 9

at Norman

"The two teams that will play this Saturday, one may be the best team in college football and the other one is a darned good football team. This game will be played to determine which one is which." Les Miles' words stoke Bob Stoops and the Sooners.

NOV. 5, 1988

No. 8 Oklahoma 31, No. 12 Oklahoma State 28

at Stillwater

OSU's Barry Sanders runs wild on his way to a Heisman. OU's Mike Gaddis provides a counter punch. But in the end, it's a dropped touchdown pass by OSU's Brent Parker in the final minute that defines this Bedlam game.

NOV. 7, 1987

No. 1 Oklahoma 29, No. 12 Oklahoma State 10

at Norman

OSU is within six on a Barry Sanders fourth-quarter touchdown. But the Sooners pull away for a painful win: Starting quarterback Jamelle Holieway is lost for the season with a knee injury. Charles Thompson moves into the lineup and takes OU to the national title game.

NOV. 30, 1985

No. 3 Oklahoma 13, No. 17 Oklahoma State 0

at Stillwater

"These were the worst conditions I've ever seen a football game played in." Plenty agree with OU coach Barry Switzer as his team wins a game dubbed the Ice Bowl. Sleet pelts players and fans in an ESPN-televised night game. OU stays on track for a national title.

NOV. 24, 1984

No. 2 Oklahoma 24, No. 3 Oklahoma State 14

at Norman

Sooner fans tear down the goalposts. The game is tied at 14 in the second half before OU pulls away to win the Big Eight title and clinch an Orange Bowl berth. OSU, doomed by two second-half turnovers, goes to the Gator Bowl.

NOV. 1, 1975

No. 2 Oklahoma 27, No. 19 Oklahoma State 7

at Stillwater

OU marches toward a national title by shutting down the Big Eight's No. 2 rusher, Terry Miller. OSU turnovers help OU build a 20-0 lead early in the third quarter. Steve Davis and Joe Washington have TDs, but Horace Ivory is the leading rusher.

DEC. 2, 1972

No. 3 Oklahoma 38, No. 20 Oklahoma State 15

at Norman

No contest. OU races to a 24-0 halftime lead. Fleet-footed freshman Joe Washington joins teammate Leon Crosswhite in rushing for more than 100 yards. Chuck Fairbanks' Sooners are Big Eight champs and head to a Sugar Bowl date with Penn State.

I didn't see a single win when we were both ranked. Well, that will change this Saturday.
