OSU basketball recruiting class ranked ninth nationally

Oklahoma State announced the signing of six men’s basketball players Wednesday. The signing class includes three point guards: 5-foot-9 Ray Penn of Travis High School in Richmond, Texas; 6-2 Fred Gulley of Fayetteville, Ark.; and 6-5 Reger Dowell of Duncanville, Texas.

The Cowboys also signed Dowell’s high school teammate, 6-5 Roger Franklin, plus 6-11 center Torin Walker of Northside High School in Columbus, Ga., and 6-7 Karron Johnson of Mount Zion Christian Academy in Durham, N.C.

Rivals.com ranks OSU’s early signing period class as the ninth-best in the country. Scout.com ranks the class 16th.

Franklin is ranked as the nation’s ninth-best small forward by Scout.com. Penn is ranked as the nation’s ninth-best point guard by Rivals.com.

ESPNU.com ranked Walker as the nation’s 14th-best center prospect and Rivals.com ranked Johnson as the nation’s 14th-best power forward.

Gulley is ranked 16th among point guards by Scout.com and Dowell is ranked 23rd among point guards by Rivals.com.

Maybe he'll be used at another position. Never hurts to have ball handling skills and in Fords offense, that may be a requiremment. Just a WAG:rollseyes:.
