Please excuse if this is a double post, but even so, with basketball firing up might be a hot topic.
So Jai Lucas is transfering from Florida. If you don't know, he was a five star PG recruit a few years back we tried very hard to get, oh yeah, he's JL3 little brother too.
Does Ford make a run at him?
Somebody on another board said that RA said he's coming to OSU. I don't know if the guy was serious or not, but geez...
I don't really feel like being involved in another three ring circus about that guy. Enough already!

I agree, but if he doesn't open it up like he did all through his recruitment and said "I wanna go to OSU period."' Do you take him?
I would say yes.
Oh, I think you take him no matter WHAT!
I just hope it doesn't go like that again, ya know?

Why is he leaving Florida? That answer would have a lot to do with whether or not I would want him to come here. If he's leaving cause he's a spoiled brat and not getting the attention he needs, then he can just go away.

From the ESPN article it sounds like he wants to play PG instead of SG and wants to be closer to home. So OSU could be a possibility with Eaton leaving after this season he could come in and compete for a starting job at the point next year. It is closer to Houston, but still a bit away though. If he really wants to be super close he'd have to look at either UT or A&M or Baylor I guess. Was A&M ever a big player originally or was it all after Billy was at UK?

I don't remember aTm ever being a big player... it all being about UK and BG. I also remember being very tired of hearing about Jai and his choices. Was THAT ever a three ring circus!

Well, I'm sure it is about to be open season on that all over again. Unless he just has no interest in playing for Coach Ford.

Not to poo on Jai, but we already have 3 PG commits for 2009 and Keiton Page this year. Even though Ford's system allows for multiple guards, how much smaller do we want to get? I think this ship has sailed.

He will not come to OSU; we already have a highly regarded PG behind Byron and have signed a 4-star (#9 PG) plus 2 other PGs for next year's class. Jai is going to want to go in and start where ever he goes and it looks to me like Ford is grooming Page to be next year's starter.
Wow you beat me by, like, 5 seconds.

Would it help with recruiting if Ford built a relationship with John Lucas II by Jai coming here? Is that worth taking Jai??

I'm with some of the others here. He had his opportunity, he chose otherwise. That ship has sailed. We don't need the drama.

He won't come here. He started 35 games at florida, but sees that he will be passed up, and wants to go somewhere he can be handed the position. One place fits the bill, and he loves the coach.
Goonerville. No doubt in my mind.

I don't want him. He had his chance.
