Don't know how much stock I'd put in it but this isn't the first place I'd heard about this.

Interesting rumor in deed. I hope it is true....could really help us in the future! :)

I should also add that I don't think there's much truth to the rumor. Just found it interesting.

Wow, now that I actually get to read the rumor...I hope it's not true. I think Gundy needs one, maybe two years. If we could muster a decent defense, no one would be thinking Gundy should go. HE runs a straigh program and his players play for him with an intensity that hasn't always been there. Let Beckman get things sorted out for the defense and let's see out things pan out over the next year or so.

I think he'll get at least 1 more year. I was always under the impression he was "Boone's boy". I don't think Mr. Pickens will get rid of him just yet.... If we do have a change in offensive coordinator it may make it more difficult to produce next year. I would like to see Coach Gundy be successul. I think he runs a tight ship and we should take pride in that and support him.

I like Fedora but I don't think there will be much of a drop off if we get a new OC. Bottom line on defense is that Gundy picks the DC that run the type of defense he wants played at OSU. I still have no clue if Beckman is worth a lick as a DC but ultimately it's still Mikes responsibility to field a competetive defense. That's yet to happen despite the fact he KNOWS there has to be improvements. I think he'll get another year but 7-6 and a poor defense won't cut it.

This is a sensitive subject... on one hand you have a coach that gave so much to OSU... through being a player and an assistant and now as a head coach... He has done some good things (bring in big time recruits and keeping up the bowl game attendence) BUT....

He also has (in some ways) not achieved what most OSU fans were hoping for at this point with the talent that is on the team... Was noted on one telecast (A Fox Sports Net broadcast) that OSU has way to much talent to be a .500 average football team.

I feel like he will get a few more years just because of the fact that he is a "hometown" coach that is putting OSU in the spotlight (for good things or bad) and that expectations have improved and the program is moving up (disappointed if we don't go to a bowl game where as not too long ago we were begging to just win some games!!)

We will see but fans keep in mind.... every Saturday there are 50,000 plus coaches from the stands... most who don't even know what a Flag or a Post route is .... :)

:):):) I am just so happy to be able to read a rational thread about this where there isn't a bunch of "fire gundy, osu sucks" idiots posting on it!

I for one think that Gundys leash got a lot shorter but it is not time to get the axe out yet. I think he gets at least two more years unless things really go in the tank next year.

I hope he isn't booted out the door yet! I personally wish that we would have had more wins than we've seen so far & I feel that we've made some bad plays at times, but I think his heart is in the right place & he cares about the team & OSU in general. I give him at least another year or two.

Just my 2 cents.

I have no doubt that he will get the full 5 years of his contract. As well he should.

I honestly think next year could be very good, but Im really looking to the 2009 season. Something tells me that 2009 could be very special.

We'll see I guess.

I think he gets the full 5 yrs. He needs to concentrate on using some of that recruiting talent to get some defensive help though....Beckman really doesn't have much to work with.
