And this maybe could be on the Sports Board but I will post it here...

If the economy stays as it is or gets worse, how do you think it will affect college and pro sports? Will OSU, ou, NU or any other fan continue to buy season football, basketball, etc. tickets or do you see the possibility that every program will suffer with smaller crowds?

What about the Thunder next year? Sure would be bad if Oklahoma lost the NBA franchise because of fewer ticket sales but then again every NBA team may be hurting if the economy doesn't come around.

But then again... sports might be the release people need and may be the expense everyone wants to afford so they don't have to think about other things.

I was just thinking about the Mercruiser thread and was wondering if buying a boat was just the beginning of things we couldn't afford anymore.

Could be. We are in a global market and we are not competing very well anymore.

I expect our standard living to fall back instead of the rest of world reaching up to ours.

And in other news, you can buy Yard Dawgs season tickets for $58.

That's $58 for 8 home games. A little over 7 dollars a ticket/game. Add in the beers and of course that skyrockets to $758. But, that's not too much.

I don't know about season ticket sales, but it certainly cannot be good for OSU trying to sell 66 new luxury suites to corporations that are trying to keep expenses down.

I had thought that I had read or heard at one time that about 1/2 of them were sold already.
