Glad the kid wasn't hurt. Nice move on the receiver.

The kid became an instant celibrity and was seen signing autographs for his friends shortly after that... no joke.

Well, that certainly ended better than when that poor kid from Houston ran into that band wagon at Marshall a few nights ago.

OOOHHH, I saw a replay of that. I think they said he suffered a compound fracture to his leg. That SUCKS!!!

class move by the Bearcat wide reciever; He looked like he was truly concerned about the kid.

And I thought our corners of the end zone were close to the walls.

No doubt. I have no problem cleaning up after stuff like that happens but actually watching it happen. Yuck. :wow2:

My apologies for pirating this thread.

I would just go to Youtube and search for "Houston football injury" or something like that. I'd do it myself, but to be quite frank, it makes me pretty sick to my stomach.

Basically, the Houston kid runs out of bounds and into a cart left by the Marshall band. His knee bent pretty far the opposite way that it's supposed to. When I was watching it live, I figured he probably tore every ligament in his leg. Apparently though, it was a compound fracture in the bone below the knee.

Really, really tough luck for the kid and a really, really avoidable injury on Marshall's part.

Very classy move by Gilyard...if I remember right, Mardy was the guy who had his scholarship taken away, then was homeless for a while, then got his scholarship back and had to switch from corner to WR, and has now stuck it out and been extremely productive for UC...the guy's an amazing story, and he seems to be all class...

Oh man,

thats brutal.

The band director needs a boot in his ass for that.
Absolutely ridiculous for those to be there.

Gilyard looked to be about a foot away from a bad collision with a wall instead of the kid.

really classy of the WR to hug the child and make sure he is ok... makes me happy in times were all you hear about is how athlete's only care about themselves...

Houston injury is one of the worst I have seen... makes you sick to see someone end their season like that... good luck to the young man
