Coach back again for his weekly breakdown of Saturday's opponent the Iowa "hey we aren't the forgotten school" State Cyclones....

Question of the week: "If they are the CYCLONES, why is their mascot a big BIRD?" hmmm..... :wow2:

Matchups:

1. OSU vs. OSU-- you say wait...why would a matchup be us versus well ..us.... because the only was OSU loses this game is if we beat ourselves whether it is because of turnovers or because of the huge game last weekend and huge game next weekend... will we come out focused or will we still have a hangover from last week???
Also, will we look forward to next week vs. Texas Tech.... and let ISU stay in the game to possible steal a victory at the end:??

2. Dez Bryant and Davis vs. Iowa State DB's- didn't think these guys had a big enough impact on the Texas game...really want to see them play a bigger role in what we do offensively tomorrow... I would also like to see the play making of a "4th" passing threat (someone other than Hunter, Bryant, and Pettigrew)... I think Davis can be that 4th guy and also Bowling... I want to see one of them make some big plays...

3. Fast start of Offense- Have been worried about how slow our offense has been to warm up lately... (A&M, Mizz, and Texas) all took a couple of drives to really seem to get the offense clicking... we can't do that next week so I hope to see all cylinders running right off the bat for the Offense against Iowa State

4. Iowa State's Offense/ Defense- can they finally show any life... they racked up over 500 yards last week and show a little spark against A&M but still rank 10th or 11th in almost every category in the Big 12... how will their mindset be... are they thinking upset or are they thinking just getting to next year?

Players to Watch:

1. Robinson- RB -- good running back who has some decent break away speed... could cause some trouble for defense if not ready to go.

2.Sumeral- WR -- by far their best playmaker... leads team in touchdowns (yes that means more than even RB's) .. seems to have good hands ...

3. Arnaud- QB -- can make things happen.. has 9 TD's with 4 Int's.. torched Kansas for 268 yards and 3 TD's and threw for 371 against A&M so he can sling the ball..seems to round out about the 62% range so not too bad of a throwing QB.

Prediction-

As long as OSU is focuses and plays like they have ..should be over by middle of 3rd quarter...

OSU- 52

Iowa Cyclones/Birds/not the step child of Iowa U./ State- 17

ISU will start 2 True Freshmen at Corner Back.

This will be taking candy from a baby for Dez, BP, DD and Bowling.

We will run roughly 50/50 run and pass, and ISU won't be able to stop either.

Over and under for OSU punts should be 1.5 :)

Thanks, Coach! I always look forward to your weekly analysis.

(And I've had the same worries about our offense's sluggishness. They haven't looked quite like themselves the last couple of outings. Hope they fire on all cylinders tomorrow.)

According to one you didn't cut it today either, when you didn't go to the game.

I didn't go to the game either, but that doesn't make us bad fans.

I didn't go either, but we weren't talking about you now were we? Everything doesn't always have to be about you. :)

I was asking about a vote on Legal, who said he "didn't" go to the game, with the implication that he could have.

.... after all, who am I to insist that every alumni should attend every game regardless; but I do have tickets, and I did have somebody in my seats, and I did sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last week.

Well, I have seen this year what could and could not really means when very poor health did not stop two fans from attending OSU game(s).

My current health problems are probably not very good excuses for not going to some of the games when I see them there.

have to agree with Bleed on this one... Creedence Clearwater was the original CCR... both bands are good.. but come on when you hear CCR I gotta think "Down on the Corner" ..(my favorite song):headbang:
