Four-star recruit picks OSU: Oklahoma State continues to make inroads regarding in-state recruiting. On Thursday, Midwest City Carl Albert High School safety Daytawion Lowe gave a verbal commitment to play at OSU starting next year.

The 6-foot, 175-pound senior is regarded as one of the top safeties in the country. Rivals.com rates the four-star recruit as the 17th-best safety prospect in the Class of 2009. Scout.com has Lowe listed as the 15th-best safety prospect among high school seniors.

Lowe, who picked OSU over Nebraska, Pittsburgh and Missouri, has 73 tackles and two interceptions for the Titans this season.

Lowe is OSU's seventh commitment for next February's recruiting class and fourth from the state of Oklahoma. He joins Union running back Jeremy Smith, Owasso offensive lineman Brandon Webb and Ada linebacker Colton Richardson.

Verbal commitments are nonbinding. National signing day is Feb. 4, 2009.

Good old days: OSU will celebrate the 1987 and 1988 teams, which finished 10-2, at Saturday's home game against Iowa State. Reunions for the '87 Sun Bowl and '88 Holiday Bowl champions are planned this weekend in Stillwater.

Homefield advantage: The Cowboys are 13-4 in their last 17 games at Boone Pickens Stadium. In that span, the OSU offense has scored at least 34 points 14 different times. The Cowboys have also surpassed the 500-yard barrier in total offense eight times.

Fodge makes cut: OSU punter Matt Fodge is one of the 10 semifinalists for the Ray Guy Award, given annually to the top punter in college football. Fodge is averaging 43 yards per punt this season and has had 13 punts downed inside the opponents' 20-yard line. The winner will be announced Dec. 11.

I wish they would be bring the teams back for Bedlam. Seeing the War Pigs, Thurman, Barry, Sim Drain, Blanchard, Dykes and others would really pump up the crowd (well, even more than it will be for the game).
