We played the #1 team tougher than anyone else has so far and delivered way beyond expectations and dropped 2-3 spots in the polls. So beating up on iowa state will raise us or do we drop more if we don't beat the spread?

It all depends on how Texas handles its next big test. The more real they are the more real we are.

I don't think that it has anything to do with how Texas plays, since TTech is ranked very highly, and I don't think it has anything to do with "beating the spread".... it's 31 for gosh sakes.

first, 4 teams ranked above are playing each other (Fla/UGA, TTech/UT) and everybody else might as well have a bye week. Second, there aren't any teams behind us that can really move up past us if we win, even if it's just barely.

Depends on if everyone above OSU wins/loses, by how much, who the pollsters got to watch on tv, what they had for breakfast, etc etc.

Just keep winning and the recognition will take care of itself. Because OSU won't lose again this season, they will be ranked considerably higher than they are right now.

The reason OSU dropped is because OSU lost. OSU got national recognition for playing a great game against UT but that's it. OSU might move up if teams ranked ahead of OSU lose. Best for OSU is play a solid game and look good on tv.

Hate to say it or admit it, but this is one of those times when we need to show a beat-down, with all of our stars (Dez, BP, Hunter and Zac) all getting National recognition type numbers.

Might be important in a couple of weeks in the minds of East coast nimwits who don't do their homework but are impressionable.

Ok, I said it............and I ain't sorry.

It's too bad the "East coast nimwits" won't be able watch the I-State game and the beat-down up close.

I think it is CRITICAL that we put up big numbers this week.

We have to move ahead of a 2-loss Florida/Georgia. We have to move ahead of a 1-loss Texas Tech (although not as critical since we play them next week) and we have to stay ahead of Utah.

We don't want to struggle against ISU and create doubt in the minds of voters on a week when several teams just above us will be losing.

It all depends on how the Eastern States Promotional Network perceives us.
