Easy one here and pretty well known.

Slice jalapeno long ways. Empty out as many seeds as you need. Remember the more seeds, the more heat. Fill the jalapeno slices with philly cream cheese. Wrap bacon around pepper. You should be able to use one bacon strip per two slices. Cut the the bacon strip in half.

Put on grill at medium heat, four to five minutes on each side. Perfect gameday appetizers. :cowbell:

This is the ultimate snack food for the low-carber! I used to smugly sit and eat these during games, not even missing chips or breaded wings!

This has been a gameday "staple" for quite some time for me. I could eat about a dozen of them. Although it makes for a rough next day if you go over board.:wow2:

We love those!

If you want a twist, take the stems off, throw them in the blender with some water, milk, cream, whatever & blend it up.

Makes a great dip for triskets.

We do this alot and I love them. If you have people that don't like the hot of the jalepeno you can use bell peppers. It makes it very festive if you use the various colored peppers.

You can also cook these in the oven - but don't ask me what temp and how long as my husband is the one that always makes these.

Can you ask your husband and post the answer, because they sound delicious and the oven would make it easy.

This was from virtually the same recipe on recipezaar:

Transfer the wrapped Jalapenos to a lightly oiled baking sheet and bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes or until the bacon looks done.

I should have known....350...the universal baking temp. I'm going to have to cook me up some of these.

mix the cream chez with blue chez for a little extra taste. before you wrap the bacon, put a little smokie on top and then wrap bacon. perfect.:ousucksnana:

never used blue cheese, but I will now!

Weve mixed spicy ranch dressing mix with the cream cheese before, for a kick.

we love these. Made them a couple weeks ago and ate them for breakfast the next day.

I usually bake mine at 350 ON A RACK. Not on a rack makes too much smoke and grease and yuck.

For the record, I have never seen you sit down during a game ;)

I like to add tiny shrimp or chopped black olives or chopped green chillies. We also wrap them in won ton wrappers, seal with a little water if needed. Deep frie till golden brown.

As another way to prepare, cut the stem off and use a potato peeler to "core" out the seeds and meat. fill with cream cheese and cover hole with bacon and wrap all around.

Tuba, cooking them in the oven is easier. 350 for about 25-30 minutes

I'm gonna try a variation using some pimento cheese my wife made. It'll use it up and give it a little different flavor.

Those are awesome, especially with the blue cheese addition.

Ms. J. brought home a smoked ham quarter from her visit to AR this past week. It has to be sliced razor thin, or it's like chewing jerky. I'm using that for tomorrow's batch!

I made them yesterday. Used cream cheese in half and my wife's pimento cheese in the other half. They turned out pretty decent, but there are a few things I will change for the next time:

- Need to use toothpicks to keep the bacon in place in the cream cheese-filled peppers
- Need to up temp and/or increase backing time. I'm thinking 400 or 450 for 30 minutes. Bacon wasn't quite as crisp as we wanted it. I know it shouldn't
- The pimento cheese was a nice twist. Because it was cheddar and jack cheese (and other ingredients), the bacon stuck better on top.
- Thinking of mixing bacon bits in with the cream cheese for more flavor or using a flavored cream cheese.
- Erin wants to try wrapping them in wonton wrappers then frying them for a change

Duh, that was the other thing.

350 doesn't "get 'er done". I "finished" 'em on low broil/both sides; that gets the grease out of the bacon.

Hell, it was the first time I fixed the recipe, and I was flying blind. I HATE fatty bacon and it was obvious that something had to be done to fix it.

I tried a different way of making these and it turned out great.

1 can of Campbells cheddar cheese soup
1 pkg Cream Cheese
1/2 pound of bacon cooked or 1 package pre-cooked bacon bits (doesnt smell the house up).
Fire Pickles. a bunch. Cut in half with all the pain removed.

1) Empty can of soup into a small sauce pan. heat on low.
2) Dice up cream cheese and slowly add in several pieces at a time and stir into soup. Keep doing this until all the cream cheese has been melted into the soup. You will have to stir a LOT and keep it on low heat as not to burn the soup.
3) Dump bacon into soup mixture. Mix

Pour into serving bowl and use halved fire pickle for dipping
or
scoop out mixture into halved fire pickles (Kind of like peanut butter on Celery)
Set in Fridge for 30 min.

Serve and enjoy!

Crumble up a pound of hot sausage and brown. mix in a brick of cream cheese. Next, mix in a cup or so of shredded fresh parmesan cheese. Scoop the mixture onto jalapeno halves and bake at 400 degrees until done. 10 min or so. Obviously, if you want to wrap these dudes in bacon and then grill or bake, that would just make life a little better!!

Erin got "The Pioneer Woman Cooks" as a Christmas present last year and we used her recipe (minus the basting of sauce on the outside). In that recipe, she mixes a little cheddar with the cream cheese, which really adds to it. Erin hates spicy stuff, but she loves these things. They're even better the next day, IMO; the heat mellows out and the flavors are melded.

Next time, we're using sharp cheddar instead of mild. We're also going to baste some with BBQ sauce (Head Country, if I can get my mom to send us some) and others with seedless raspberry jam ... YUM :)

For those that don't like it hot, the sweet peppers or even bell peppers are great. We usually do a combo of the sweet and jalepeno peppers when we make these and they all taste delicious!
