At least Mike Baldwin is the screen name for Mike Baldwin on osu's rivals site.

Why in the heck do u care about paperclipinsider.com or even about a writer at the daily disappointment?? The guy makes like 30k a year and is able to manipulate the entire orange empire with a few pecks on his laptop while smirking.

If u really gave a flip, cut your subscription, and either read the norman, edmond, lawton or tulsa dailies. Otherwise my pke brethren come off sounding like they have "battered wife" syndrome.

Who is Berry Tramel and why should he be important? ;)

I think I have to agree with Lewis on this one. You guys fixate on Berry Tramel too much. He is a sports writer(?) for the Joklahoman and everybody knows what a rag that newspaper is. Everybody knows which team they support and which team they don't. So other than getting business news (available on the Internet) or local news (available via TV and the Internet) why would you subscribe to that newspaper. Let it go. Don't read the newspaper he writes for, don't read his articles, don't support him or his newspaper, period.
I used to subscribe to the newspaper over here (a worthless piece of crap that would give the DOK a run for its money) and finally got upset enough that I canceled my subscription and said the hell with it.
Guess what. I don't miss it. Thought I would but really have found other avenues of getting information and I just don't miss it.
Give it a try.

I think it's better to know your enemy. It's valuable to know exactly what Berry Tramel is, what his intentions are, and what his true feelings are. It makes it easier to totally discount anything he says, and to fully realize that he has no journalistic integrity at all.

I still don't understand how this poster knows that BeanBag is Trammel? Anybody?

Remember when the return of this board was supposed to be an escape from constant Oklahoman bitching?

Nope....I remember it was going to be an escape from the constant negativism of posters on certain other message boards. The DOrK and TW get no special commutation of sentence. :D

Think about it... why would any media person bother to create an ID? They're not going to post, they simply cruise the boards looking for their next topic for an article.

Seriously, why would a media member logon.... I know that Robert Allen and Greg Swaim do, but they both make a part of their revenue from the Internet, and message boards is a good way to get the word out.

I've been on both sides of the fence, and not to single you out or anything Cali, but are people really so ignorant as to think that message board posters are the only people talking about OSU athletics?

The general consensus seems to be that the media uses message boards as a source of inspiration, and while that is to some degree true, it's naive to think the things that are being talked about in press boxes and newsrooms across the state vary significantly from what's being said online.

Yeah, that's what I said.

Still doesn't answer why he would bother to create an account and logon.

What are you suggesting, that he just does it to stir the pot? He's already got his own personal forum for his thoughts... free from rebuttal.

I guess I didn't make it clear that I'm not even sure of the assumption that this BeanBag guy is even Barry Trammel. I'm not saying it isn't, but I don't know how people are so sure of it.

Regardless, if the "personal forum" you refer to is The Oklahoman, I would certainly argue that it isn't "free from rebuttal" as posters here and otherwise have made it quite clear that they aren't shy in letting Trammel know how they feel about his very public opinions.

Free from rebuttal meaning that a few hundred internet posters is insignificant to the tens of thousands of households that his nonsense reaches.
