Oklahoma Sports Media TOOL of the Year
Former Winners:
2001 – Dean Blevins
2002 – Dean Blevins
2003 – Craig Humphreys
2004 – John Rohde
2005 – John Rohde
2006 – John Rohde
2007 –
The 2001 football season was a watershed event for Oklahoma State University football. The Cowboys had lost a very close Bedlam match-up the year before in Stillwater 12-7 in Bob Simmons last season, nearly ruining Oklahoma’s run to another mythical national championship. A former Dallas Cowboys tight ends coach by the name of Les Miles had been selected to replace Simmons, but had shown no improvement, bringing his Cowboys into Norman with another dismal 3-7 record.
None of the local sports media gave these Cowboys a snow ball’s chance in hell to win the bedlam game in Norman against a Sooners team that was on its way to another mythical national championship run. Dean Blevin’s “chips and Salsa” comment lives in infamy, and was instrumental in his winning the inaugural TOOL award after the Cowboys upset the Sooners 16-13.
Dean went on to make a complete fool of him self again the following year and was the run away winner in 2002, resulting in his name being removed from competition, to make it fair for a myriad of other worthy candidates. The award was eventually named “The Deano” in honor the original TOOL.
Now you have a chance to vote for one of the three finalists for 2007, Oklahoma Sports Media TOOL of the Year.

This seems to come of haterism, I don't understand how you let these people have power over you? Granted all 3 are jackasses, but who is the bigger clown? The ones that write crappily, or the ones that continue to read what is written crappily??

Lewis this has nothing to do with "hate." This is just part of the "game we play" with the all powerfull Oklahoma media. This gives the unwashed masses a small say so as to who is the TOOLest of them all.:D This poll started back on Ryno's old board, so all of the written history over the last seven years is lost in cyber-space. I'm just trying to ressurect an annual tradition. I just ask everyone to lighten up. It's all in fun.:p

This is not what I needed on the day after Christmas. My mind is not fully engaged yet. (way too many Milk Punches yesterday) I will have to give this some very careful thought.

I think Jeni would have made a very strong showing even before her indiotic BR article.
She could win it on shear volume of indiotic articles.

CCWest...I can see your point, but with Tramel's incessant snideways support of Carlson & arrogant potshots at Gundy, culminating with the most disgusting WPOS excuse of journalistic work written this year - yea, eclipsing even Jenni's WPOS excuse of journalistic work that precipitated her public a$$-chewing - The Berry gets my vote for 2007.

you're probably right, sadly I don't think that Jenni wrote her article to be an arse, she just ended up being one becasue she didn't have any facts and made way to many insinuations for a legitimate "journalist".... but Tramel seems to do it on purpose...
can I re-vote?

Jenni needs to put down the pen and go have some kids....(sarcasm, cold, dark, bitter sarcasm)
I think there needs to be an option for a 3-way tie.

Jenni finished a very strong 2nd place to Craig Humphreys in 2003. Berry consistently finished 3rd just about each year, but all of the other POLLS were taken the first Tuesday after Bedlam. This year Berry has had extra time to really shine, and it could very well be his year. He hired Jenni, he coached her, he drove the get away car, and now he is purposely going after Gundy and Fedora.

If jenni wins maybe we should give barry a lifetime achievement award. Not sure what to call it. Maybe the garbage award.:D

Also remember Barry's POS rankings of the greatest teams,athletes,arenas,etc...in Oklahoma history? Well in his top 100 athletes with Oklahoma ties,Pete Incaviglia was NOT in the top 100. When I asked barry why,he said well Pete was overrated as a player, and was just a hitter, and also Pete never did anything in the pros. Hmmmmm, but yet Barry had Jason White in the top 100 and even Courtney Paris who hasn't even had a pro career. Pete was mostly a hitter, but by doing that he made CWS all-decade team, broke many records, and was a college legend. But again why we expect Barry to dig up facts, when all he does is dig at OSU fans. Congrats Barry on your much deserved award.

I think I agree with VERB, why couldn't we have a option to vote for all 3? Or at least 2?
A very close race so far. JC and BT are neck and neck.

It was a close call but I had to pick Berry the Fairy. Remember, without him, Jenni his prized pupil doesn't have a job at that sh$t rag.
