The Cowboys have several openings in the lineup after the graduation of Coleman Scott (133 pounds) and Nathan Morgan (141). The Orange and Black ranking matches play a role in determining who will be in the starting lineup early in the season. Other weight classes to watch include 149, 174 and 184 pounds.

The Cowboys open the season Nov. 16 at the Central Missouri Open. Their first home dual is Nov. 22 against Old Dominion.

The public can attend the ranking matches free of admission charge.

REDHAWKS HOLD SALE
The Oklahoma City RedHawks will hold their first ever sale from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark’s Mickey Mantle Plaza.

Items will include old logo merchandise, jerseys and baseball equipment. Used concession equipment will also be sold. The sale is open to the public.

The RedHawks are changing team colors and logos for the first time since the team moved to the Brick in 1998.

DAWGZ ADD THREE PLAYERS
The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz signed three players Wednesday, including quarterback Robert Kent.

Kent, a three-year arenafootball2 veteran, led Lubbock to a 9-7 record last season, passing for 4,100 yards. The former Jackson State standout rushed for 189 yards and 16 touchdowns for Lubbock, which announced in September that it was ceasing operations after two years in af2.

The Yard Dawgz also signed linebacker Freddie Rollins and defensive back Andre Burns.

GAINES IN NORMAN
Olympian Rowdy Gaines will be in Norman on Friday for a motivational discussion on how he overcame illness and became a championship swimmer.

Gaines, a three-time Olympic medalist and five-time world champion, will be at the Holiday Inn at 1000 N. Interstate Drive. The presentation will begin at 7 p.m.

Gaines overcame Guillain Barre, a crippling auto immune disease. Not only did Gaines become one of the world’s best swimmers, but he is considered by many in the sport as the voice of U.S. swimming. He provided commentary during the Olympics.
