I'm working too...AT&T.....talking to a moron right now on the phone. I hate it when people they are the ONLY person in the world!!! But after talking to him, I will say Merry CHRISTmas! That usually gets 'em.

What did you end up getting? Why? Where? How much (if you don't mind)?

I bought a Samsung 4066F LCD at Best Buy. It was $1500. Obviously I wasn't in the real high end market but I am really pleased with it so far. Football this weekend was great. My last decision was between this one and a Sony 40V3000. This one has a better contrast ratio and was $200 cheaper. If your budget is bigger than mine I would recomend a Sammy 71 or 81 series or the Sony XBR 4 or 5. Those Sonys run $2500-$3500. The Geek squad guy I visited with had more good things to say about the Sammy than the Sony such as black levels and color range along with the price. He basically said the Sony is older technology but is getting more money based on the name.

I looked at the Plasmas because of the color advantages and being better for fast moving images but the glare issues and durability and they really use alot of energy and give off alot of heat. I didn't notice any movement lag when watching the football yesterday in my TV.

You can see alot of differences between sets in the store but ultimately when you get it home you don't have 40 other sets to compare to so it will look good anyway.

Sorry for the long answer but this has been just about all I have thought about since Thanksgiving, it made my head hurt but I am pleased with the one we got. Again good luck.

I work for a large medical practice here in Tulsa. Only three of the 17 doctors are in today, but it's not a holiday so we have to be here unless we use a vacation day. It's not bad because I can get more work done today since it's so dead and I did already have to fix our email server after it went down so at least I have been productive.
