I offer this comparison to support that contention:
uo is favored over Kansas by 21.
Cowboys are favored by 17 over Baylor.
See what I'm saying?

I think they are thinking this is a trap game being we just beat Misery and Texas is next week...
:ousucksnana:
I also think that Baylor's awesome young qb is getting some respect, and we haven't always been great at containing talented, mobile qbs.

so a prediction to beat a conference foe by 17 points is a bad thing???
win by 1, win by 17, win by 50,
a win = a win = a win

I don't think that it is as disrespectful as you are making it... if you really believe that; plop down some bucks...
I think it is more of a tribute to the season that Baylor is having, and how they have improved, especially on defense.

I don't characterize it as "disrespectful". I think they're still skeptical, though.

While I applaud your optimism I have seen us lay entirely too many eggs on defense to start booking flights to Miami.

I believe!!! It's really hard to commit fully as I've had my guts stomped on more times than not over the last 40 odd years.... But I'm buying into it! (This week anyway.)

We're not talking about flights to miami, we're talking about covering the spread against Baylor... where we're already 5-0 against the spread so far this year.

Oh, I'm sorry CC. Exactly what is to be implied by a thread titled 'Vegas still somewhat skeptical of Pokes' when the spread opened at OSU -17? We should never be favored by less than 36 touchdowns.

I haven't seen any layed eggs on THIS YEARS defense!!!! And I really don't think we're going to start plugging in guys from years past.
I'm telling you guys, this is a complete different team with confidence and a swagger about them than any previous Cowboy team. I'm talking about offense and defense!!!!

Not that I agree with Vulgar, but if there are cold showers taken; please take them separately, and we don't need proof pics. :D

I'm glad our team isn't as "cautioulsy optimistic" as you, if so we'd probably be sitting at 3-3 right now. And your right, after my long road trips to Seattle, Columbia, and ALL of our homes games, I do need to relax and cool off with a cold shower. There's not a team left on our schedule that ME and our team are scared of or think we can't beat. And to think otherwise would be extremely counter-productive at trying to accomplish what my Big12 Champs bracelet says.... :music-smiley-005:

Oh, I understand the sentiment. I'm 46 years old, which means I've been a Poke fan for a very long time. During that time, I've seen a lot. Most of it involved being disappointed.
However,
Half of you dudes need to take a cold shower.
I refuse !!!

I'm also having a hard time understanding why some Pokes want to put an damper on the enthusiasm....
The season is going as good or better than almost everyone expected.

Exactly, we all need to sit here and soak up an undefeated season and a new era of Cowboy football!!!!

It's no biggie. The world needs "glass-half-empty" folks to balance out us "glass-half-fulls".

My glass is half empty... But strangely it's the bottom half of the glass that's empty. Go figure.
Dang, now I'm thinking full figure!

my glass is shaped like a beer glass, where the bottom part is much smaller.... so I'm sitting here trying to figure out where half is...

I heartily agree. More-so, life's too freakin' short to go around being negative. Let's think positive. Alot more good can come from thinking positively. What can thinking negatively do for us? Not a damn thing.
The mind is a powerful thing. Let's use it to our advantage. :koolaid::koolaid::cowbell::cowbell::pete::pete:
