I was watching the flick Havoc yesterday, and I was thinking, "Wow, every parent of a subarban teenage kid that wants to be a gangsta, NEEDS to watch this movie."

I have also felt the way about Requiem for a Dream (drug addiction), Bully (peer pressure) and Kids (unprotected sex).

All 4 of these are not for everyone, but could help open up dialogue between parents and teens to show them the dark sides of being "cool"

any other movies I should add 2 the list??

IMHO, Havoc and Kids were overblown with regards to this. Requiem for a Dream is more about drug addiction period rather than age specific. I think you have a point about Bully. That was a prett accurate presentation in my opinion. Another one is "Thirteen". The original story was written by a teenager, and is hard to watch but very thought provoking.

I've only watched bits and pieces of 13. But I've heard the same thing. I don't remember watching it all the way through.

I do remember the neighbor they hooked up with also played "sunshine" in "Remember the Titans"

another vote for "thirteen". i would like to think 13 year olds don't act like that since i have a 12 year old, but I know they do and it scares me to death.

"mean girls" masks some pretty pertinent info behind some funny comedy.

i want to see "juno" but haven't yet.

Great movie. Probably the best of the year.
