OSU’s Reid May Not Return For 2008
AP - 12/22/2007 2:16 PM - Updated 12/22/2007 2:18 PM

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) Oklahoma State football coach Mike Gundy says backup quarterback Bobby Reid may not play for the Cowboys next season.

During his pre-Insight Bowl news conference this week, Gundy said he hadn't spoken to Reid about his future plans, but added he would be surprised if Reid returns to OSU (6-6) next season to complete his eligibility.

Reid -- who graduated last Saturday -- could either transfer or seek early entry into the NFL draft.

Reid entered the season as the Cowboys' starter, but was injured in the September 8th Florida Atlantic game.

That opened the door Zac Robinson, who has started OSU's last 10 games and is set to do the same in the bowl game against Indiana (7-5) on December 31st.

Following OSU's victory over Texas Tech, Gundy berated a writer for The Oklahoman who listed possible reasons in the column for Reid's demotion.

I don't understand why Gundy would talk openly in the press, and basically say, "I doubt he comes back, why would he"....and then say he hasn't spoken with Reid yet.

Why speak to Reid throught the media like this? Seems like bad form to me.

Just because he says he is 40 and a man doesn't mean he has a full six pack.

I would bet he was ask if Reid would be leaving, and answered the question as well as he could.

"I don't know, I haven't discussed it with him. "

"Have you asked him?"

I would think those two statements would be an infinitely better answer, but that's just me.
