This is a little twist on Spaghetti that was my wife's family recipe. It's something that you can easily double and feed a large group of people.
Brown:
1 # hamburger
1 Tbs minced onion
Sauce:
6-8 oz cans tomato sauce
2 cups burgundy or cooking wine
1 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon rosemary
1/2 teaspoon marjoram
1/2 teaspoon basil
dash of garlic salt
2 Tbs sugar
1 teaspoon salt
Add browned hamburger to sauce and simmer coverd one hour. In large pan bring water to boil, add 1 lb spaghetti and boil about 1 minute. Drain, and add to sauce with 1 cup grated cheddar cheese. Stir together. Pour into casserole dish. Bake covered at 325 degrees for 45 minutes. Uncover, sprinkle with on cup grated cheese and bake uncovered for 30 minutes.
Of course I like garlic and if I was making it, I would add minced garlic to the meat when cooking it.;)
With the wine in it, it gives it a real good flavor.
